"The Workhorse That's Also Up For The Getaway

With Power, Pulling, and Payload for Both Work and Play

From holding down the home front to taking on the road, Silverado is always up to the task. It’s the truck built to get you through the day. Sometimes it might be tailgating with friends. It might even be getting farther away by exploring the wild rugged terrain. Whether you’re out building bridges or going off-road on hunting trips, Silverado packs the work ethic that doesn’t ease up even when you’re out seeking adventure.

Chevy Silverado earned the Vincentric lowest cost of ownership award for full-size pickups.

For everyone who owns a Chevy Silverado, you already know that you have the most dependable, longest-lasting full-size truck on the road. Now, we're proud to share the distinction that Silverado has been recognized as having the lowest cost of ownership of any full-size pickup by Vincentric.
Just like a lot goes into making Silverado, a lot goes into calculating the cost of ownership. The Vincentric lowest cost of ownership award takes into consideration the costs of insurance, maintenance, fuel and more. So whether you are buying or selling, you are getting the biggest bang for your buck. Durability and warranty coverage are also considered, which is good for Silverado considering its standard 5-year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty. That’s 40,000 more miles than Ford offers – which lets you know Chevy is keeping you in the drivers seat for as long as possible. Each of these things means that you save more money over time when you buy a Silverado. And that means a lot.

Towing and Hauling

Tow/Haul Mode enhances performance while pulling a trailer or hauling heavy loads. When activated, this feature modifies the automatic transmission shift schedule and helps reduce throttle pedal activity by the driver while traveling over rolling terrain. Useful for when you’re hauling heavy loads, Trailer Sway Control senses when a trailer starts to sway and automatically applies the truck’s brakes while reducing engine power. When necessary, this feature works to help get your truck back on track.
Auto grade braking automatically downshifts the 6-speed automatic transmission to help slow the truck and preserve brake pads on long, steep descents. An available trailer brake controller is fully integrated with the antilock brake system (ABS). If you’re stopped on inclines greater than 5%, Hill Start Assist automatically kicks in to keep the truck in place for about a second to give you just enough time to accelerate before the truck can roll backward.

Frame Technology

A hydroformed fully boxed front frame section allows for fewer welds which provides immense overall strength and durability. The rear frame is also fully boxed back to the spare tire crossmember, where it becomes C-channel configuration. This design boosts payload capacity without adding unnecessary mass.

A High-Powered Engine

The available VortecTM 5.3L V8 offers an impressive combination of 315 horsepower and 335 lb.-ft. of torque and 15 MPG city, 22 MPG highway when running on gasoline. Every Silverado 1500 non-hybrid V8 engine can operate on E85. This mostly renewable fuel is a blend of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline, which helps to reduce our dependence on petroleum."
